Oprah is the new blog!

Hope everyone's week is going well so far. The weekend is almost here guys, so hang in there! But to make the end of this week go by more quickly here is a little gossip to satisfy your appetites.

Madonna is performing at this Years Grammy Awards as the opening act with Blur frontman's creation Gorillaz. Both these artists had interesting and successful years and I hope that they come up with something to knock our socks off! Also, word around the blogosphere is that Madonna and Guy Ritchie may be splitting up sometime in the near future. No one can confirm any of these rumors as true, so for the time being we will just have to guess.....

The performers for this years Coachella music festival have been announced. Apparently Depeche Mode and Tool will be the headliners. Other bands include the Scissor Sisters (a personal fave of mine) and Modest Mouse (who didn't love that song "Float On"?). Bonnaroo has also revealed their line-up with Radiohead(!) and Tom Petty (!!) headlining. To read more about it click here

Last night before the Presidents State of the Union Cindy Sheehan, the woman who has camped in front of the White House as a peaceful protest for answers from George W. was kicked out of the Senate last night as she was wearing a shirt that referred to the number of fallen soldiers in Iraq. This seems biased but it should also be noted that a Senator's wife was also ejected for wearing a shirt that said "Suppor our Troops". Good to see that freedom of speech and intelligent discourse over issues that effect ALL (yes, even you) of us are alive and well. Read about it here

Those tricky Japanese are up to it again! They plan to have Robot Butler avaialble in the near future!

Also, it has been announced that The Fugees are giving a FREE concert on Feb. 6th (Monday) at 7:00PM at Hollywood and Vine (by the Arclight). I tried to get tickets but it seems that it is already sold out! Hmph!

Here are some recomendations that I have for the weekend, if anyone is interested...

I recently read the book The Alchemist and it is pretty amazing. It is referred to as a fable about following your dreams and I thought it was really great. I have been reading a ton of scripts from this upcoming pilot season and I think that we have a couple of great TV shows on their way! I am currently reading "Studio 7 on Sunset" by Aaron Sorkin ("The West Wing", "Sports Night", "The American President") and "Six Degrees" which is being looked at by JJ Abrams ("Alias", "Felicity", "Lost"). I will keep you guys informed!

Also, last week my friends and I watched March of the Penguins. Those little motherfuckers have one rough life! It was a really fascinating movie! You guys should check it out. Also go check out Murderball. It is this movie about parapelegics on a sport that is best described as basketball in wheelchairs. It is really amazing how much these men do with their lives and how they do not allow their physical handicaps to impede upon their lives.

If you are looking for a yummy place for some fried chicken, I suggest trying Cynthia's on Third Street. It is somewhat pricey but well worth it. Cynthia is a bit of a chain-smoking, wine drinking loon but when she walks around and chats with her customers you are bound for a fun story! The fried chicken here is legendary and the keep your eyes peeled because the celebs are usually out in full force on week nights.

Have any suggestions for a cool place to eat? A good book to read? A rockin' movie to rent? Let me know!

I have noticed my hits have been decreasing these past couple of days! Come on guys, I do this for YOU! check me out and let all your friends know too!

Todays Oprah is covering the Ebersol Family Tragedy. It's some family whose members died in a plane crash or something. I don't really know what that is all about.

Peace, Love and Oprah
